RIDDLES

There's no way to know if a riddle is good until you know the answer. It takes a lot of faith on the part of the riddle-solver to not look at the answer, and find out right away, but of course by this time the riddle has been ruined. I think it may be nice to sit with a riddle for a long time, if you can't solve it right away. Maybe you can take some time now and then to think about what the answer may be, and end up becoming old friends with a riddle. Maybe you'll go 10 years trying to find the answer to a riddle, only to find out the answer is something you discarded for being silly. Maybe that's part of a riddle's charm as well.
